Just picked up a Ruger 300 RCM. Walnut with 20" barrel.
Mounted a Leupold VXIII 2.5x8. Feels like a wonderful set up.
Headed to the range with it tomorrow.
Does anyone have any experience with them?

Sorry, but no. I am, however, very interested to read about your range day tomorrow! Please post a write-up when you get the chance.

Thanks,

David

Shot it today.
Off a bipod.
3/4"-1" shot four four shot groups.
I was thrilled to find recoil was much lighter than I expected.
The gun was a bit loud, but nothing crazy.

I used the 150 GMX bullets. Standard Vel. not the newer Super Duty that just came out.

Great gun. This will be my new for deer and hogs unless I'm setting up for a monster hog. I'll use the 35 Whelen for those.

The gun felt great. Very easy to adjust and line up. Barrel is just the right weight to hold steady.

I did not use the iron sights.

Next time I'll try the 165s.

What does it ballistically compare to?

Kinda looks similar to a .300 WSM.

It is a 300WSM with very minor physical size changes. Ruger did not want to pay royalities to market a 300WSM so they changed it just enough to call it something else hence a 300RCM.
