Got a new Rem in 7mm 08 and need to put some glass on it. If I had the money would go with a Nikon Monarch but I am BROKE! Want something bigger than a 3x9x40. What is the best scope on the market under 300.00? We hunt a lot of hogs and need a scope that works well in low light conditions!

The Nikon Buckmaster scopes are pretty nice. I've got one and it's a fine scope. You might also look at the Weaver "V" series scopes. I've been using one of those for almost ten years now and have had nothing bad to say about it either. Take a look here. More scopes than you'll know what to do with. And they're local to the DFW area. www.swfa.com

You can probably find a monarch on ebay for 300.
I'd just post on here in the classifieds that you have 300 to spend and you need a scope. Someone will probably have one you like.

Look at spending about 250 for a Vortex Diamondback in 3-10x50 or a little less for 3-9x40, somewhere around 185. They are made in the Phillipines, but same quality as a Leupy. Their light gathering abilities will suprise you as well! I always try to find something other than that gold ring because i get tired of the same old same old.

Order a Nikon Team Primos scope from SWFA.com for around $199. It's an older model Monarch.

You can find a Monarch on Ebay for less than 300. I bought one last year for $243 shipped and insured. Just be patient and you'll get what you're looking for.

+1 on the Nikon Buckmaster series....great value for the money!
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan
