I took my dog " Kaylie " to a private flooded field once and my buddies and I had shot a ross goose down.... she has never retrieved a goose before... so when I sent her out she ran up to the goose and started barking at the goose which was pretty funny..... she started coming back without the goose... i sent her back this time the ross made a little movement and she was all over it like a spider monkey ... it was pretty neat

I was hunting in a cypress slough back in AR, had Sable on her dog stand. It was getting slow, around 10, hadn't seen a duck in a while, and I here a huge SPLASH!!! She had fallen asleep sitting up, and fell off the stand. The look on her face was priceless. Dad and I laughed our a$$ off.

My dog chatters her teeth. Not just because it's cold. I think it's just from the excitement. Funniest noise you will hear.

I got one story about the first dog I had. Our dog "Bear" was a Springer Spainiel and the best duck dog I have ever had.

One morning we were hunting a Refuge in Northern California when I happened to look down at Bear. His head was in a slow movement from left to right. I decided to look in the same direction and saw a pair of mallards coming to the marsh. My dad and uncle pulled up and missed both birds. My dog sat there waiting and decided to take off out of the blind. After noticing they missed the birds, he turned around and started barking towards us. I still remember that moment like yesteday.

The Springer I have now(Nike) is a lot smaller than my first one, but too is a great bird dog.
About 6 years ago, we were doing a little pheasant hunting in the Sacramento Valley. This was the 5th or sixth pheasant hunt he had been on.

We watch a 2 birds cross the dirt road and run into a thicket. As we were getting close, Nike was getting birdy and started moving a little faster. Once in shooting range, I sent him to the thicket to flush the pheasant. As he enter the brush I hear a yealp! All hell broke loose and out came Nike running with the pheasant right behind him. I was laughing so hard I forgot to shoot when the bird flushed.

Zeke was laying in the back seat of the truck the other day. He always stretches his legs out and pushes off of the back seat when he wakes up.

Well, he's growing quick and his legs are longer. He pushed himself right off into the floorboard lol.. Laughed my arse off!

I was hunting in a flooded timber hole with Kaylie and getting kind of slow... she had fallen asleep on a tree that had fallen down and leaned up against another tree.... all of a sudden i heard a crack and the tree started to break in half and she stood up and then wham.... it fell... she got up and shook it off and looked at me like WTF............. hahaha still funny to this day

my buddy's dog farted in it's box and then decided that it was better to jump in the lake in January in Wisconsin, than suffer from it's own produce.

The first dove my dog, Pearl, picked up was a funny sight. She picked it up, dropped it, started shaking her head and literally trying to "spit" the feathers out of her mouth. Her mouth was FULL of feathers! It was sooooo funny! She had never had so many feathers in her mouth, she didn't know what the heck was going on.

I got a good one that happened over xmas break but idk if I want to share it. A couple members know the story...

About 20 years ago I was taking my 1st dog for a walk in the city park late one night when she was 9 mths old. She was straining at the leash just wanting to get after the huge white park geese. I mean she was really cutting up "thinking" she wanted them so bad. Quick glance around and nobody else was in sight. Release her and she goes full tilt towards the largest of them all. The others turn and run/waddle away but this big dude decides to stand and fight. Raises up and spreads it's wings to prepare for this little black ball of fire headed in it's direction. She tries to hit the brakes but her momentum carries her into the goose where she receives multiple pecks to the head and body. Those 5-10 seconds were loud and hilarious. All the honking and flapping wings caused quite a commotion as he proceeds to chase her back towards me. She wanted NO part of cripples for awhile. Lesson learned.

Sounds like the dog may enjoy the rare delicacy know as human excrement. Sometimes they find it while out in the field.

As for mine...I ate chinese food before going out on my 21st b-day. Jaeger was not and still isn't my friend. Don't really remeber puking all over my bedroom when I got home that night. Probably wouldn't have ever know because 'ol Maverick morphed into a Hoover and ate every last bit of my upchuck. My brother told me about it the next day. Good Boy

funniest thing to date would be the last 24 hours......my wife bought me a R/C truck that goes 40mph for xmas - needless to say she wasn't even the slightest bit entertained when I brought it along for a evening walk with Graci.....she almost pulled my wife over trying to chase the thing.........then when we get home we gave her a bath so she can sleep inside this week to avoid the artic front - sitting there watching the football game and randomly Graci gets up off the couch and goes and sits on the love seat...about 30 seconds later my wife is slapping me holding her nose telling me how much I stink......only problem is I didn't do it!

Didn't happen to my dog and I didn't actually witness it but the story is just as funny. At the started test my buddy is trying to help out a fellow and his young dog. It appeared that the dog had never picked up a duck before and they decided to go away from the test grounds and practice a couple of retrieves. So they do their best to get the dog fired up about the duck and then do a short retrieve. Here where it gets good...the dog runs straight to the bird and everything is looking great, but instead of picking the bird up he starts to hump the living fire out of it. My friend is busting a gut trying not to laugh, meanwhile the owner is yelling, NO! NO! NO! - not a way to get a started pass!!! Needless to say owner loaded rover up and headed home without ever running a single test. Thanks for the donation.

My dog fell asleep and fell off her stand too. This was when I took my little brother on his first hunt.

At a junior hunt test I witnessed someone else's dog retrieve the dog to within 10 feet of the handler, drop it and then lift his leg on the bird.

O.K. got another one. I'm running a Finished test and she front foots the first two marks. (The first mark was eating a lot of dog�s lunch with elevation changes & terrain changes. Throw in a mowed diagonal path angling away from mark for good measure, but I digress) So my chest is puffing just a bit as I send her on the third mark which she again, front foots BUT THEN PROCEEDS TO ROLL ON THE DUCK LIKE IT�S A FRESH COW PATTY!!! Just as I was about to blow the come in whistle she looks up at me as if to say �oh, you mean bring it to you now?� So she does. The gallery enjoyed it. Me, not so much� It was the second day and I guess the birds were, how you say, a bit ripe.

Like a week ago the action had slowed down a bit so my gf headed to the back pond to see if anything was on it. About 15 minutes later she is walking back and I tell my dog to go help her. Paxton gets out of the blind looks at her coming over the lil tank dam and just starts strutting continuously.

Pretty gross but...The other day (day after Xmas). My buddy (pikefall04) and I were at our spot extra early and I had to drop a deuce. So I did, way out in the woods far away from the truck. Hunt goes good, we get back to the truck and start loading gear up. Dog is nowhere to be found. Holler at him and he comes hauling [censored] right at me out of the woods covered in something brown. Buddy and I looked at each other like 'oh, no'...

Then back to the water he went for a good 20 dunks...

nogeese and another forum member were there talking with us after the hunt and for some reason they didnt want to pet my dog???

I think that one takes the cake!!!

It wasnt funny until after I threw up a couple times, got back in the truck for the ride home and we called the girls to tell them about it. Then I died laughing...

My wife asked me why I didnt dig a hole...who knew women were so knowledgeable on 'deuces in the field'?

Charlie did the same thing at Fork. She was up all night playing with my friends lab. She fell right out of her chair and into the swamp. She looked up at me with those eyes like what just happened. It was great.

My 5 month old yellow lab, out of the clear blue without warning last night, jumped into my lap during the game in my recliner and began to ATTACK me with lick fest! I finally had to literally push her off... She has been watching TV and chewing the rawhide fine, but for some unknown reason she went NUTS last night...

Oh, and she insists on her own chair around a campfire... we carry a third folding chair for her now or you have to fight for your own.
