Saw more 1-antlered bucks than ever before. Bald eagles and a 35 pound bobcat were the only other interesting things. We shot the bobcat. Biggest one I've ever seen.

I guess the coolest thing was during the rut, our landowner root plowed a bunch of our place so we could really see it this year. I saw 5 bucks chasing one doe out in the field for about 30 minutes, several short fights during this time, but when the big bucks took interest the smaller ones layed off.

I was setting in my little blind out by the house the 2nd day of opening week. As soon as light hit, I saw a doe step out and quarter toward the reveen. Next thing I know, she starts a full sprint right toward my blind. She cut 5 yards in front and hit the wood line. I looked back toward the reveen, and here come two black dots following the deer trail. At full sprint, were two big hogs chasing that doe. They cut through the wood line, and I turn back, and here comes a huge brown lab chasing the hogs. Lol, I don't know who was chasing who, but it was awesome. They all ran right in front of my brother's stand, and he sent a text message agreeing that we did just see that happen.
Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.--SPR[image]

This is not from deer season but the above post reminded me of this story.
Years ago I was baling hay and saw a doe run out of the woods into the hayfield followed by two dogs that belonged to the hired man who lived on the property.
The deer made a wide circle through the field and back into the woods with the dogs right on her heels.
The next thing I know, the dogs came running back out of the woods into the meadow only now the doe was chasing them!
She chased them back into the woods and they didn't come out again.
It was funny to say the least...

I got to see my first full blown fight between two mature bucks, that was pretty cool.

Also had a flock of ducks fly 10 ft from a 20 ft ladder stand I was hunting. I literally though a semi was coming up the pipe line, but when I turned, there were a group of about 10 mallards headed to the pond. The stand was right there on the side of the pond, so I just sat and watched them for about 30 minutes. Didn't see a single deer, but sat in the most picturest clear cut I've ever witnessed.

I watched myself slowly getting frostbite...
I watched a whole swarm of hogs descend on a feeder literally in the blink of an eye. No joke. At first, nothing was amiss; the very next instant: 30 hogs came out of nowhere hoovering up corn.
I had a big hoot owl light in a tree branch right behind me and scare the p*ss out of me when he hooted. I was about 10-12 foot off the ground in a stand and it was still dark.
I got to watch a momma bobcat with two cubs playing for half an hour.

Went to the blind in the a.m. as it started to get light it looked like the windows had fogged up. I reached up to wipe off the condensation only to find it wasn't on the window. I opened the window and the view didn't change. The fog was so thick I couldn't even see the outline or shadow of a large juniper not 15 yards away. It was like staring at a grey screen for about an hour.
Then it lifted ever so slightly and I could see a ghost at the feeder. Through the binoculars the buck looked like a B&W thermal image. The white on the antlers and fur popped out while the rest of him just blended in. Being a younger buck and since I was looking for a doe I let him feed. Just about the time he jumped out of the feeder pen the fog came back in and was as before for the next hour and frostbite was setting in. Since the son was not dressed quite as warm as I and I was getting cold we called it a morning. We packed up camp to head home and an hour and a half later it was still thick.
Just kind of aweird, twilight zone morning.

I saw turkeys come to my feeders which is something I haven't seen in a long time.

I seen two different deer, at different times, eating corn about 5 yards away from 3 or 4 pigs!

I saw my 4 1/2 yr old son poop a turd that looked like something Nate Newton would have produced. But other than that not much.

Call my dad crazy but when we were deer hunting he took of walking through our land and came upon a group of about 30 pigs. When they all started getting up and walking away my dad swears he saw a Chow dog in the group. He said it was to furry to be a yote or a pig and the tail twisted up on its back just like a chow. I got a short glimpse of it and it looked like one to me.
