to the stand, Browing Eclipse A Bolt in 270, with hornady 130 gr. Interbonds.
When on foot, Rem model 7 SS in 260. with Federal 120 gr. Nosler ballistic tips.

#4 shilen barreled M77 MKII in 7x57 for me. Heavy but I like it.

I've killed most of my deer with a sporterized Arisaka in .308.
And for those of you who know what that is, it still has the "mum" on the action.
I now use a Rem model 700 .243.

300 weatherby does the job for me. Everyone gives me the ole 'that's too much rifle' but to each his own I say  I shoot does in the head and if I shoot a buck - let's just say i don't have to worry about him getting away. My wife shoots a 7mm-08 which is a very nice caliber IMO as well. Low recoil, good energy and shoots relatively flat. I have my 300 zero'd at 250 yards, as well as the 7mm. Both will do the job.
I love the smell of diesel in the mornings...

Most of the places I hunt I stick with my 700 ADL 3006 165gr balistics. But if Iam hunting where I might be takeing a long shot my 300 weatherby mag.

It is the sweetest shooting rifle I have ever had. Smoked a bobcat and a 9pt this weekend in Mississippi. ...and it's what I'll have with me when I visit Telegraph in a couple of weeks.
It is pretty much about to become the only rifle I'll bother taking out of safe...

I ( mitch32's dad ) have been hunting whitetail for the last 18 plus years with my Tang safety Ruger 25-06 .. love the gun .. just got a T/C pro hunter 7mm-08 have not yet took a deer with it but it did a number on a coyote yesterday..

Since 05 I have only taken a knife. Joshua, my 11 year old son, uses my Rem 700 243 w/3X9 Leupold or his Ruger 77 308 w/3X9 Burris. Im just there to do the gutting.

Winchester '94 in 30-30.

I mostly bow hunt but when I decide to hunt with a rifle I take my Ruger bolt action .270.
