I like them both but would pick the xbolt because i don't like the gray inlays on the stock. Have you looked at the xhr?

I think that stuff they coat the barrel with on the xhr is just as good as stainless and looks better to me. I'm not really a big fan of camo stocks either though. Good luck.

I just read up on the xcr and it is trynite like I was thinking on the xhr, not stainless.

Oh, the REm model 7 in 7mm08 has been rated the best woodsmans gun of all time! And it come in different variations of stainless, blued, wood or synthetic. A great all around rifle.

Ya, forgot about that! Just pulled the trigger; going to be the Remington. Think I will be happy. I mean they will both kill a deer/hog. How dead do they really need to be blhahahahahahaha

I have the X-bolt stainless stalker in 7mm-08. It certainly fits the bill for an out of the box tack driver. Fit and finish is excellent. Great rifle.
