 What rifle do you hunt with and carry to the stand?

just wondering whats everyones choice of gun is in deer hunting? Anyone haves varmints around to where you carry an entra gun just in case something comes across you on the walk to the blind the the morning.
I use a 243 for deer, turkey, hogs, and carry a 20 gauge with me in case a cat or coyote run across me.

.243 for hill country deer with within 100 yard shots. 7mm Magnum for everything else . Them yotes like that mag. Let's the air out of them REAL good !

Alternate between a Marlin 308 express levergun and a Remmy 798 30-06.
My pistol is either a 1911 or XD-40

250-3000 for close, or for thickets, .270 w/scope for over 100 yards.

The last three years I've mostly used a remington 700 ss/dm in 260,with a winchester model 70 in 308 for a change.

I have many and sometimes it is hard to choose. They are all jealous girls!! I mainly switch between my Ruger #1a .243 and my custom built 25-06.

Out of all that I have I carry the Rem 700 VLS 7MM-08, or the Rem 700 BDL 25-06. Whichever one I have enough ammo loaded for. I am partial to the 7MM-08.

Depends on which feeder I hunt.
The one with mostly just deer, it's a Ruger M77 MKII . 243 which I got for my wife but have stolen! Oh that's so sweet!
Feeder set up over a pig pipe and wallow, it's a Remington (DPMS) R25 in .308

I carried a Rem 700VLS in 7-08 for about the last ten years. I bought an Encore this year in 280imp, and I've not left the house without it so far. The new might wear off eventually. But I sure do like it. Several other poor rifles I own never get touched anymore other than the occasional wiping down with oil.

Mini 14 (223) w/ open sights for the short range stands. 6.5 x 55 Sweedish mouser or 300 Savage for long range ones. The mouser is my favorite by far.

264 Winchester Mag. for anything from whitetail to elk. You don have to worry about range. Hold on and fire.

Rem 700 adl .30-06, kids use a mini 14 .223, and my wife just a got a marlin xs7y 7mm08. My two favs got stolen, rem model 7 7mm08 and ruger m77mkII .25-06. Damn thieves!
