I am considering purchasing the Savage model 110 in a 308. I would greatly appreciate any feed back about these rifles.

They are excellent shooters that are very accurate right out of the box. They also have a great factory trigger that is easily adjustable. The trade off is that the normal wooden stocks are very ugly. Not sure what kind of wood is on the Classic series, but it looks much nicer in pictures than the wood on my basic wood stocked gun. They do have the new AccuStock though that I have heard good things about but have no experience with. I would go with it since I doubt you can find a gun that shoots better in that price range.

excellent choice for an inexpensive accurate gun. i have 2 of the 110 in 30-06. both shoot 1in. groups at a hundred yards.i have more expensive guns, but i find myself grabbing one of the savages when i go hunting.would be a good choice.
Glad to be in the Republic of Texas!!

I've got a 110 predator hunter in .223 and love it. very accurate. the only thing I don't like is the mossy oak coating on the stock. it scratches off too easily for my taste. otherwise a great gun.

I purchased a Savage 110 in 25-06 in the fall of '08. I found it likes the Hornady BTSP loads in 116 gr.... Once I got it sighted in it's been a real tack-driver. As stated above, the wood is butt-ugly, but an extremely accurate rifle for the price.
I REALLY like the accu-trigger, also.
Since then I've taken five Axis and a whitetail with it. Four dropped in their tracks, while the other two didn't go further than 50 yards. Love my Savage!

There great guns we own three of them in our family. All I have ever had to do is adjust the triggers. They are older guns, I wish had the accu trigger!

Best of all they can easily and cheaply be rebarreled. Good base for an inexpensive semi-custom.

You mean like this one in .308. Model 10 FLCP That'll do this This is my second Savage my other is a .22-250 The next caliber I'm gonna buy is .300 Win Mag and it will be another Savage. I buy synthetic stocks so I can't speak on the quality of the wood. I don't like "pretty" rifles cuz I'm more conscienscious about scratching them instead of concentrating on the hunt. Buy a Savage with confidence.

X2 on the wood stock - definitely would go with a composite stock.

I have the classic 110 woodstock in 7mmmag. It works great on hogs.

I have a Model 12 varmit series in 22-250 with accutrigger. It shoots well. The only problem I have with it is ita a copper hog. I have to keep some Sweets on hand to keep the copper fouling under control.

I have heard they are very accurate guns. I hope that is true, because I just got one myself. A 7 mag. Used, but not abused. I have put a few rounds down range with it and it is comfortable(for a 7 mag) to shoot. The scope that i have is broken, so not able to sight it in. I believe it was a package deal, scope and rifle. I will not steal your thread, but i am posting pics of before and afters of my stock and barrel refinish job. It will be in the photo section when I get my pics taken. Good luck with your choice.

I love mine. Every deer I shot with it drops in there tracks. Ammo is a decent price.
Thanks, Jigfish

My 110 is a 1990 model 270, it has the grey and black laminated stock. Had trigger job done and the barrel floated. I also have a Winchester model 70, Rem 700, Browning bar 243 and a custom .264 Win Mag, the savage is The most accurate. It's not my prettiest gun but it's my best shooter.
