Can someone help clarify hunting rules regarding hogs around Lake Grapevine for me? Seems like the more websites/info I find, the more it contradicts each other.
Is it shotgun or bow?
What are the hunting hours and season around the lake?
What permits/licenses do you need to have?
Is it done by daily drawing (or is that deer only) or can you just walk in and get a permit?

It started as a drawing this year, but due to a number of issues with how and why it became a draw, it was scrapped and opened to anyone that wanted a permit. There were old rules and then new rules with the draw. Thus why all the conflicting information on the internet and even between some corps publicatons. Which rules they are going by, I do not know, so you will need to talk to them at the corps and you will need the permit if they are still handing them out. They did cut the permits off at some point last year. It is bow only. There is no legal shotgun or rifle hunting for hogs on grapevine. This is city limits hunting. You will find company and you will find yahoo's breaking rules and doing illegal stuff with not enough enforcement available to fully control it.

Thanks for the info. A couple places I called (and the ones they told me to call) gave different info as well. One was the ACOE...go figure. That's why I thought I'd ask. Figured someone must have done it recently and knew what to do.
'preciate the help guys.
