I want to start planning a elk hunt for October 2011. is there anybody offering one for that time? I am looking around Chama NM

I'm interested to hear what advice people give you. I'm researching a similar possibility and I’m not well versed in out of state hunting. Since it sounds like you are looking for an outfitter, you could find an outfitter that you want to hunt with and have them assist with licenses draw. You would submit in the outfitters pool which should have a better success rate. NM also has private landowner permits which could guarantee you a license. I suspect they are expensive, but just pay and go no drawing a tag.
