I wussed out on duck hunting this morning and am shivering under a blanket staring at a feeder.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Worked most of my life in the service industry. When everyone is off weekends and holidays I worked, well most of the time, but now I'm retired, so now it's my turn.

I still feel for those folks that have to work those weekends and holidays now while I play.

ITs cold when duck tries to light in mesquite top.Spent eve to monday am perched up here,The weed tops are 14 inch croton.Sept, jerkoff stole all propane tanks. Was tough friday am,sandhills flying at tree top.

There's only two things I like about hunting in snow: easier to see the deer in thick cover and very easy to track them after the shot.

I can't say it is colder w/ snow on the ground either. Had a few of those very cold days on stand in west Texas w/ gusting winds like you wouldn't believe. That's when I thought I'd never see anything. Boy was I wrong. I watched upwards of 75 deer from that stand make their way down into the bottom where I was perched in a 12' tripod stand.
