I saw a story on the news Wednesday night where the hogs are getting thick around Lake Grapevine here in North Texas. The reporter said you had to hunt on corps property but little else. Do any of you all have any other information? I suspect that I would have to use a bow or crossbow. KillinSwede

Hey ,I work for the PD and here is the deal with the pigs, you can hunt them on Army corps property with a shotgun or archery. They are issuing permits to just about everyone with a license and hunters safety course. The pigs are in Southlake and Trophy club because the pressure the hunters have put on them in Roanoke. The only places you can hunt is around the lake on a 2500 acre tract and its Roanoke and trophy club NOT Southlake or Grapevine. It is the 6th time they have ran this story and the reporter Darla Miles hasnt got it right once.Along with hundreds of pigs there is some of the biggest deer in North Texas in this area.We have seen several deer that are 18 points and bigger along with a 26 point sticker buck and several 12,14 and 16 pts.Happy Hunting.

I got my permit at the Grapevine Corp office by the lake. I went out Sat evening. I saw a lot of sign (dung, tracks, rooting), but didn't see any hogs. If anyone has info on which areas they are showing up regularly (I-35 area, 377, etc), I'd appreciate a PM. I did see more squirrels than I could count while I was there. I may take my oldest out next weekend to thin them out.
