I've seen some posts about it here but cant seem to find them with the search tool. I hunt woodies quite a bit so I kinda know what they sound like in flight, sitting, and when spooked. I was wondering if anyone had any sound clips of how they call woodies in the field. I hear them quite a bit but I'm kinda interested to see what you guys do.

Woodies aren't really the best birds to call. I've blown a woody call many a times without sucess. The plain ol' mallard quack always seem to do the trick.

I understand that and thanks for the input. I have good enough success w/o calling them but I'd still like to get the call down. I've had them pass us up out of range, call a bit, and had the same group swing around and come down into range before.

go to youtube, and search "woodduck calling." one of the first videos to pop up will be about 2 minutes by DU/Krittergetter game calls. The guy demonstates a couple different sounds. I would do it and post the link, but im feeling lazy.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Ill check it out brown. Anyone ever heard of the 'bass' woody call? I think its custom built as well, looks like a wooden harmonica. My buddy has one, its supposed to imitate the drake. I know the drakes call very little and its not too loud, but it sure sounds JUST like them...
