I am looking for parts to a smith and wesson model 1000 shotgun.
Numrich gun parts / e-gunparts and lsgmfg.com are the two places that I have found that sell parts to this shotgun. Unfortunately they are both out of stock of the part I need (362910B Action Bar - Left)
Does anyone know of another source to look for this part?
Any gunsmiths out there that have connections to parts?

You might consider doing what I did and watch the online gun auctions for a second beater 1000 to buy for parts. I would offer you the part off my second one, but I eventually found the parts I needed to restore my second one too, so before it was said and done I eventually ended up with two working ones. You might also watch the auction sites www.auctionarms.com and www.gunbroker.com just for the parts too.

Those guns gave a lot of problems over the years, and the parts supply has been really picked over. Most of the parts are from scavenged guns, and what happens is the action bars and pistons are all gone...
Hard to locate...I cringe when I see one come in the shop, I know its going to be a long process

Because there are other people looking for parts for that particular shotgun, another option to consider is parting out or selling your gun on the auction sites. You will likely end up with enough for it to replace it with a Reminton 1100 which has the same fit and feel as the 1000. That would have been a cheaper option for me but instead chose to restore mine for nostaligic reasons.

Yah. I am wanting to restore the gun. It was my dad's growing up and it has not been used in a long time.
Unfortunately all the places I have seen are out of stock for the action bar (left) for the 12 gauge. I know its a stretch, but is there a chance the 20ga. action bar would fit?

Check with Lee's Gun Parts in Irving, they should have parts and if not he can find them for you. Prices are low and he is a great guy.

I have had a S&W 1000 since the mid 70's when I bought it new. never had a problem with it. looks and feels just like a Remington 1100 which I am sure it was a copy of. I guess with anything mechanical things can break. I would never part with mine.

The 1000 was/is no where near the gun the 1100 is.... and they are diametrically opposed in design and function....nothing is similar in them, totally 100 percent different guns.

Hey Vern you are right. My S&W 1000's are no where near the
1100 as mine are in the safe and there no Rem 1100's near...
