One guy posted the other day it had a lot of recoil.

ok, first off i was not hard in the market for a new bow. shot all, wouldn't shoot that ugly "honeycomb" bow. it grew on me alittle. when i shot it i tried my best to pick it apart. i like speed but it is not my "hot button" for sure. after EVERYTHING i could do i found it to have a very SMALL hump in the draw, like a very mild speed bow. my arrow didn't come of the rest (like on the reezen), it was faintly there. however, i felt zero recoil to speak of. that bow doesn't move. matter of fact i almost didn't even get a stailizer. but bows just need one for looks at least. haha. you know you have thought that yourself! quite, dogs....it is quite. and freakin fast. i shoot a 28" draw at 61lbs with carbon impact arrows (7.9gr per inch) and 100 grain tips. that combo was hitting 292 fps. talk about wow! as i get tired i turn my wrist in to the bow, i end up getting a reminder it is time to go in the form of a pop on the forearm. with the dead stop this bow, you have to WORK to get slapped. I LOVE IT!

I've shot the Z7 and honestly, I think the DXT is still a better shooter.I don't own either bows, but my choice would be the DXT. I shoot a Mathews Monster and an HCA Iron Mace. I'm a speed whore!

A little "hump" in the draw doesn't concern me. Recoil however will reflect in accuracy. That does seem a little slow though as I get around 270+ fps out of my old Mathews LX and I only draw 26.5". Then again I'm drawing 73#s.

slow?....i am getting 22 fps more and pulling 12 lbs less, how you figure that seems slow. i feel no recoil, and the bow shoots like a long axle bow due to the long riser.

here is what i don't get about mathews bows and no i don't own one cant seem to bring myself to spend 1000.00 for a friggin bow! I shoot a custom made PSE F4 only $450.00 315fps and pretty quiet. So am I the only one that has noticed that Mathews top of the line bows are only produced for 1-2 years and then poof they are discontinued? what up with that???? If they are soooooo great ie: the switchback, then why did they stop production so soon?

Becuz they know some guys always want the latest and greatest. The technology in bows is like computers. Always changing and there are those guys that will stay on top. Now what that means for you is you can find great deals on barely used bows. I bought my Monster fro $650 shipped to my door.

Yeah but you gotta figure I'm gonna lose even more FPS with my short draw length. They always rate these bows with a 30" draw length and minimal arrow weight and that doesn't work in the real world.

Im with you. I shoot a PSE stingray 10 years old. 28 draw link 64lbs and it shoots 5575 arrows at 274 feet a sec. and pse had it around for 5 or so years. Matthews changes way to fast and discontinues way to fast. The animals I shoot never lay there and yell out old pse why didnt you use a NEW matthews????

I would like to consider a faster bow. I like my Mathews and after 5 years we are close friends and understand each other very well. I would look hard at their bows when buying a new one. That said it is going to have to be significant improvements for me to spend the money on a new one. The prices have gotten ridiculous.

I THINK MATHEWS IS LOOSING GROUND BECAUSE THEY CHANGE TOO FAST! HOW CAN YOU BE SURE THAT YOU CAN GET REPAIR PARTS FOR A SWITCHBACK IF THEY NO LONGER MAKE IT?

You can. They still have parts for most of the original bows they put out. I saw one so old it had whiskers and the guy got knew limbs for it. All he could get them in was black but they got them.

Ok so here is my next question does my draw length on my PSE equate to the same draw length on a Mathews switchback? if so I found one for 400 bucks!

I believe it is the same. Good luck. The only reason Im looking at a matthews is to get a back up. PSE Stingrays are hard to come by.

Parts are still available. We can even get parts for a 3D Vapor (from the early 1990's). Your main consumable parts are bushings, bearings, string dampners and buss cables. These will always be available. Hard parts are still available as well.

I should be huntin'!
