Here I am, but I don't care today. I figured somebody who does will chime in. Welcome to the forum Jason. Like said above, many people on the forum hate it when lakes are named, its kinda one of those things where you don't want people to give out info on a thread about where you hunt. As a duck hunter you know how important it is to keep your honey holes on the low. Maybe somebody will send you a pm with some info. Also try contacting the take office.

Welcome to the forum Jason.

I do appreciate it. Wasn't looking for any honey holes, although that would be nice. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be playing in any areas I'm not suppose to be in. Just heard some horror stories about how people have been on one side of a cove and were suppose to be on the other and got smacked with a fine. I also know this 'other' local lake where your only able to hunt from perticular spots on the NW side and nowhere else. I do appreciate the welcome though and getting pointed in the right direction. Thanks guys.

Jason, I saw from another post you apparently moved here from Iowa? Going to be a lot different I am sure. There is a post sticky at the top of the Land and Leases section of the forum with public hunting areas. jeh7mmmag and I do our best to keep it up to date. It would be a good resource for you since you are new to the State. http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/348583

Yeah, I've been here for about 5 years now but haven't gotten into any hunting around here because it's so different than what I'm use to. I usually just go back ever December for deer season up north and that's given me my fill for the year but I'm getting more of the itch to get out around here and explore. That thread is to the public grounds, right? Everyone at work has had nothing but horror stories about the public hunting land. Is that true?

Everyone at work has had nothing but horror stories about the public hunting land. Is that true? Yes. It can be especially in the areas in or near major cities such as DFW. It is best to always figure hunting pressure into your scouting and your hunting game plan with public land.
