What should i do to prepare for next year? I have a pond that I hunt next to a huge 600 acre wheat field. The pond doesnt have much in it. Is there anything to plant so by next year there will be grass or something in the pond? Any ideas on any way to make next year better please post.

Look into japanese millet/ brown top millet/ barnyard grass.. those will be your cheapest options, and easiest to grow. Other more expensive options that will take a little more work to grow are milo and smartweed.

theres lots you can do. tell ya what, Ill manage it for free. just let me hunt it

Haha, that actually worked for me on a few fields in AR back in high school. Didn't ever do any good tho.

the idea is to plant the millet around the edges when the water is low, then let it flood. Its best if you have some kind of water control structure to set up a "moist soil management unit"
google that phrase and you will learn alot about how to set up a pond for ducks.

depends on the species..I think jap millet matures in 60 days, brown top a little longer. you are gonna have to do some google searches.
