Drink a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper and use the empty bottle to fill up with corn. Place several around stand and watch what happens. The bottle protects the corn and the deer kick it around to get corn out like self feeder. Really works well they will frequent the area if you keep them full and can always come back. Dublin Dr. Pepper works best!! lol j/k

I've actually seen that trick years ago on a place we hunted in Gordon. I was young and couldn't figure out what the purpose was. Dad filled me in on the trick.

I was a poor farm boy. Those 2 liters were the most affordable feeders a guy could get. They work really well. I got a hold of a bunch of 1 liter glass bottles and used those. At night it sounded cool listening to all those bottles being kicked.

Hey have done this and it works well, but filling them up is a chore. lol. Besides drinking all that pop made me have to pee alot.

It works. I've even just poked a few holes in the bottle, filled with corn and poured in some hog wild, put the lid on and threw it down and the hogs will fight with it for a couple of days too. One big one actually carried one off.

but a funny comment about this thread. A fellow Aggie read this thread and told me about it. Said to cut the Dr. P bottle in half and about 1/4 full of Dr P to mix with corn.

Yeah the lid on, and a few holes cut in it like I said. The trick is for them to have to chew it out. I cut about 5 or 6 holes 1/2" or a little less and let them have at it.

And I'd say most Aggies are more educated than I am anyhow.
