I showed up yesterday at Archa's the processor expecting to pick up approximately 70-80 pounds of meat. The processor brought out a box with about 25-30 pounds of meat. They had put all of my pork chops and some sausage in someone else's box. I was not happy. I've got the full story up on my blog and you can check it out www.thehuntincabin.com.

That sucks, but at least they made semi-right by not charging you anything. Luckily, hogs are all over so getting another one wouldn't seem to big of a task. Had it been something killed out of state, or even a deer, I'd have been pissed.

Like jdavis said I'm glad it was not a deer or even an elk from out of state.

Sounds like she did the right thing by not charging you. Mistakes happen. I'd give them another shot.

I would take that deal anyday. You traded a dead varmint for 30 pounds of processed meat, good trade

Well it's the point. They did not give me all the meat, and you guys are more forgiving than me.

After you try to satisfy the sweet tooth for pork,,you may be somewhat satisfied with what you got? Theres a few reasons the production hogs have that nice flavor and taste,,Try a little in am,

sorry to hear about your issue, but at least the processor was accountable for their mistake and took ownership of the issue.
i have heard too many stories where others did not.
unless there was more to the story, i would give them another chance. mistakes will always happen, but honesty is much harder to come by.
Stuff my dad said in the deer blind
"I can dive deeper and come up drier" "did you do that?"

I do The Deer Shops Taxidermy work and work part time for the processing part of their business. I guarantee you get as much meat that will come off your animal. We are not tofar from ARcha's give us a try.

I think it is sorry to be bashing a business on the internet when they made it right. Stuff happens. It's when they don't fix the problem that it becomes a big deal with me.

Just read the story. The lady was even the one that noticed and brought to attenion their own mistake. Pretty sure you didn't get "ripped off".

From the sound of it the processor should be getting a pat on the back but instead is getting flamed on an open froum. People make mistakes but not everybody makes it right.

The lady went the extra mile, and that's all anyone can do. Go kill another pig and take the animal to her personally. Then thank her for her professional handling of the previous mistake. I bet your next pig will be perfect!

John, I can understand being upset about them misplacing your meat, but the lady did notice it, and didn't charge you. So I wouldn't call that "ripped off". Heck, give 'em another shot, see how it turns out. If it don't work out then go to the other processors in town..

I cut meat and ran a meat market for a large grocery chain for over 26 years and I can only imagine what can happen at a deer processing plant.I am sure that most of them do the best they can but there is always going to be a few exceptions.I can tell you right now that she did all she could do when she apologized and didn`t charge you anything.I have eaten some wild hog meat over the years and wasn`t so impressed with the taste anyway. My advice would be shoot as many as you can and stack them up for the buzzards. Then take your 95.00 dollars and spend it at sams for some quality meat that has been grain fed and inspected.I think they did you a favor. Now you get to try it and see just how much you like the taste of wild hog for free.

hahaha! that is funny right there.
It sounds like they run an honest business. I can forgive mistakes, no problem. Its when people are dishonest that I have a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Anyone who makes an honest mistake and owns up to it like they did is alright in my book.

Anyone who makes an honest mistake and owns up to it like they did is alright in my book. I agree. It's the inept idiot who does everything they can to not bear any of the blame that I won't do business with. Based on how this whole thing went down, had you not gone public with all the bashing of the place, I would bet that if you had gone in with another pig and reminded them of their previous eff up, they probably would have given you a discount. Good business owners know that without customers, their business doesn't exist, and they we're trying do what they could to continue their relationship with you.
