I talked to the biologist here yesterday and youth deer season is going to trump everything around here this weekend that anything to do with the Barney so I guess we are going deer hunting. I'd rather be hunting ducks though.

Oh man I think I'd just have to try another area. It should be a good weekend(I'm cautiously optimistic). But on the bright side maybe it's only like they're moving back your opening day.

I'd give anything if I had some vacation time left. I'd be on the Barney when the sun come up Monday morning. All the birds in the area and in the migratory path of this lake will prolly be here after being shot at all weekend. It could really be interesting.

The area that I hunt and live near is one of the most popular WMA's in northeasdt Texas. I call it Barney Lake WMA because of all the traffic. There are so many people here on the weekends and it so crowded you can't help but be a Barney if you show up. I've rarely ever hunted it without being in sight of one or more hunters.

hey I bow hunted the parks last weekend. I assure you someone was duck hunting. I heard probably 3 different groups come with in 100 yards of them BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM.
U bet they got up at 2 to make sure they got their spot too.

Help me out, I only know of one "lake" then WMA around dfdub, is it that one? I still ain't made it out there, mostly becuase I've heard descriptions of the same and a complete lack of ducks.

I dont think i would ever hunt public on the weekend. Went out opening day last year and had people setting up all around me. No thanks.
I try and hunt during the week.

pretty sure no one named the lake anyway, not that it would matter, it's closed for the weekend.
I think someone should name the lake, people should know that they can't be duck hunting out there this weekend.
I'm not doing it though.
