I don't know about that, but there are some really nice deer around there. I don't know why it wouldn't be OK.

You can't shoot your bow inside the city limits. I don't know it it is because it is considered a firearm or what. Most of the deer we have around here are domesticated and will not run from humans. I have been feeding deer in my back yard for 10 years.

Take a bucket of corn out to you driveway and shake the corn out and they will come running. I guess if your starving you could kill one, but there won't be much sport in it.

Are you going to be in Parker or Tarrant? I believe you must have more than 10 acres to hunt at least in Parker not sure about Tarrant.

Feel free to PM as there are some spots around Azle (outside city limits) that you can hunt if you get landowner permission

oh and the 10 acre rule only applies to guns in parker county. that i do know for a fact. and it only applies to a lotted subdivision. very fine line on that law.

I worked at the golf course out there while it was being built and I saw one of the biggest deer in my life right on the edge of what is 17 fairway. We were driving thru the property and I saw a doe standing there and she looked behind so I sped up to see if there was anything behind her. Once I cleared the trees I saw a 12pt with chocolate horns looking right at me. This buck must have gone 170. Good deer in the area, especially out by the lake.

Must have 10 or more acres for bow hunting. 50 or more acres for hunting with a gun. So you are out of luck with your 9 acres, if the city prohibits hunting inside its limits or ETJ.

A bow is considered a firearm in lots of municipalities and also the new tx state law requires at least a minimum of 1O acres to legally hunt with a firearm so go figure. Good luck, I live in Lucky Ridge off 51 north of Springtown .

No harm bow hunting 9 acres in or out of city limits in my opinion as far as saftey is concerned. Guess its the libertarian in me that says you're not hurting anyone it should be legal. Bet you could bow hunt there for an eternity and no one would ever know.

I won't say who allowed it, but me and a buddy use to go to the water plant and bow hunt, but thats been years ago. Heck, if it's 9 acs. who is going to know...LOL

Call game warden or Steve Myers, the police chief at Azle.

It's generally a city ordinance that prohibits shooting a bow within the city limits. I don't believe the state has any law concerning the matter.

i would call the gamewarden. i use to live in azle and there are alot of nice deer around there. dont tell anyone but i have been shooting my bow in city limits for 20 years. if you have to be hungry to kill a deer then i guess i will go without lunch today cause i am going hunting tomorrow. find out and post some pics. i have seen plenty of dead deer on 730 towards boyd. i have even seen azle cops shoot an eight point that was hit by a car and called in by me. much rather see them in the freezer than in the ditch.

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Called the Azle Police and the officer said you can not hunt in the City limits by City Ordinance. However, they could not give me the Ordinance number or Citation. The officer said I needed to call Code enforcement to get the specific Ordinance. 817 444 4065 if your interested.

Update, Azle does not have any ordinance against shooting a Deer in the City Limits with a compound bow. I was told that if the animal leaves your property, you have to have the other property owners permission to retrieve it.

The officer said you first go by the State law, then the County Law and finally the City. In this case since Azle does not address the issue, it will depend what County your in to decide what rules apply.
