i've weighed a bunch and all the ones that would go "at least 300" turn out to be in the 180-250 range

The biggest I've ever shot was the first I'd ever seen, in November, 1983. I was deer hunting West of Gatesville, and this big "thing" came out of the tree line carrying a doe in his mouth like a cat carrying a kitten. He'd toss the doe in the air and rip off a couple pounds of meat each time. I thought it was a bear at first. When I scoped in and realized it was a pig, I figured he was too danged ugly to live. I didn't like the idea of sharing the woods with anything like that, anyway, so I put a 165gr .308 into his ear hole. I have no idea what he actually weighed, but he bottomed out a 500# calf scale at some feed store around Jonesboro, I think. There was a picture of the pig, me, my dad and my uncle on the wall there for a long time.
