Hey guys, Im located in McKinney and have hunted Ray Roberts the last couple of days without much luck. Talked to a couple of other guys and doesn't seem like anybody is doing very good. Has anybody hunted Lavon lately? Never been there before but thinking of trying it the next few days. Thanks

Duck hunting not allowed on Lavon this year, black bear sightings in the area and wild dog attacks.

I guess this is never going to end.
Lavon is slow just like the rest of the lakes around here.

I was just trying to save him a trip, obviously you understood that that was a joke stork, it's very slow. If you're walking in, right now, don't waste your time. And I'm being honest about that. For someone who is not familiar with the lake, as high as the water levels are, it is dangerous unless you know the lay of the land so to speak.

The lake levels are high, a lot of the good spots are way too deep.

you have to understand that most (all) duck hunters on this site WONT give up any spots, they will tell you if they are killing but not where, the best you will get is Lake X, so you will have to go look for yourself

Sorry noboday is willing to scout for you. But do you honestly believe that if someone is shooting birds at ANY public lake that they will say "hunting is great at Lake ____________________" so that you can head over there?

The lake really is closed because of a large number of skunks!
the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

You may want to get out and scout it. Scouting in person is alot more fun and productive.

It's not skybusting, if you make the shot.

Shoot me in the face! If you do that, you will at least get to fire your shotgun- which is something I haven't done at Lavon yet.

Lake Lavon is open to duck hunting. Lake Lavon is a hidden duck hunting gem near DFW. Limits of mallards are the norm for walk in hunters. limits of mallards are the norm? Dam I must suck at duck hunting.

I'm glad everyone will be heading to Lavon these days. Not one of my personal haunts.
