I just came out of the stand for the afternoon hunt. I really think this season is off to the worst start ever for us. I am seeing a few does and small bucks ,just no shooter yet. Our deer seem to still be in a night time feeding pattern. We are in central Concho county. Is this the norm out there??

wish i could say, ive been working and dont have time to hunt right now, mannn i need to go out and hunt bad.

it is terrible for alot of people including me. I have only seen one legal buck in 6 hunts. worst first 2 weeks i have ever hunted, just too much food elsewhere

I actually saw 5 does tonight. That's the most deer I have seen so far this year. It was right at dusk, and they came into a field I was watching. They got within 65 yards. No buck in tow. I'm still happy as all get out just because I actually saw deer on public land. This proves they are out there! I was starting to lose faith.

norm is about right,with full moon an weather,,just hang in there, few deer generaly equals big deer. itll change,

Same for me too, been seeing does and small bucks off and on since november 7 only seen one shooter that was nov 9. Deer are moving right at dark and all the chasing ive seen has been right at dark saw a spike buck go insane this morning no does around he just started to play around jumping into the air doing spins chasing crows and running laps around my food plot at hyper speed!! never seen anything like it but it might be that special corn i put out.

yea no one else has shot the 2-3 bucks I have my eye on because their at the feeder everyday at nigth, so there still there along with alot of does. just no daytime action yet. I am going this whole week hopefully it has changed since last sat/sun

There has only been a 10 point(cull though) and a spike taken on my ranch. Seen illegal bucks and 2 or 3 does. On our lease, it has been slow as well.

I went to a stand that has had no pressure,not a single morning hunt done this season in the morning. Well after daylight when I was almost ready to leave without seeing a deer, a single small doe came to the food plot,not the corn feeded. 10 minutes later 2 more small does and 1 larger doe ,these went to the feeder first. Maybe 4 or 5 minutes later a nice 8 point buck shows. He is in the food plot mabe 2 or 3 minutes then leaves with his nose to the ground. End on the hunt. This stand has always been the very best on the ranch, NOT so great right now..........

been my worst year. I haven't seen any deer but 1. I think w/ all the rain they have other food sources. I think it will get better towards the end of Dec. Still trying to get my 8yr old his 1st buck.

Yea ,good luck with that 1st. buck,it will happen. I just talked to a friend that has an excellent place to hunt. I mean an average morning they see 40 to 50 deer per blind. He tells me he has not seen 50 total since the season opened. I know along the highways there are VERY FEW dead deer on the road side......
