Glock carries a model 20 in 10mm. Does anyone have experience with this round? What reasons do you love or hate this round?

One of if not by far the best rounds ever made. The round was made for Law enforcement use only when it first came out. Then they figured it packed to much of a "wallop", so now it is tamed way down. I shot one when it first came out, talk about some power. HunterTed(Jason) has one, in a Glock also. He might give you some more insight. If you can find the older reloading manuals, when it was a hot round and the old bullets, you will be blazing some lead for sure. Everything sold now commercially is tamed way down, not nearly as hot as it use to be. Hope this helps. Roy

If I were going to get the glock, I would get the Glock 20C. The 10mm packs some wallop, and shooting a lot during a range session might get a bit tedious. I would want the compecated version.
If I were however to choose any 10mm ever made it of course would be the "Colt Delta Elite"

My Glock 20 is by far my most favorite handgun I have ever had. It is a powerhouse, and like 7 mag said it has been tamed down in most factory loads. I have shot some hot handloads and really like the preformance that I am getting out of it. Up until I got the Glock I thought the ol 1911 couldn't be beat. Well lets just say the 1911 is second best. LOL Funny thing is I do not like the way other Glcoks fit in my hand. Owned a 40 cal and a 9 mm and hated them. I didn't like the way they set in my hand. But the 20 fits great and I do not have the problems that I had with the others.
The ammo is not as easy to find as other semi auto handgun ammo. But I really belive the preformance is worth the extra effort you have to go thru to find it.

Is the 10mm more powerful than the .45 cal? Where do you get rounds for it?

FishNHunt, I am by no means a ballistics expert and I may say something wrong here, but I will try and answer your question. This information is from the excellent book Cartridges of the World, which has info on basically every cartridge worldwide, including military rounds and obsolete rounds. The ballistics data for the cartridges lists handload data and factory data. Here is the comparison of the 10mm and 45 ACP.
Velocity/Energy 10mm 180 grain handload - 1150/529 180 grain factory - 1030/425 200 grain handload - 1100/537 200 grain factory - 1200/635
45 ACP 185 grain handload - 900/333 185 grain factory - 1000/411 185 grain factory (+P) - 1140/534 200 grain handload - 900/360
Obviously this is not a perfect comparison and may not mean much of anything, but these are the numbers I was able to find. At the end of the 10mm section it says this: "Actual ballistics are generally about 100 fps slower than early factory claims, so actual 10mm automatic factory loads do not significantly exceed 45 ACP +P loads." I guess this is what 7 mag was talking about earlier in the thread.
Once again, I don't know much about any of this so if I messed something up, please tell me.

The 10mm will definitely put a wollupin on stuff. If performs similarly to the 41mag. I hear a lot of good things about the glock 20 I would stay away from any handgun that is compensated because you never know if you are going to have to fire in a low light situation. You can also get a 6" hunting barrel for the G20. I know there are a few companies that make the 10mm in a 1911 frame that I am somewhat partial too. CZ also makes a 10mm. There is also 400 corbon if you have a 1911 you just buy the barrel and ammo and you are set. Like the 10mm it is a .40cal on a .45 casing it was made to mimic the 10mm with nothing more than a barrel and ammo swap.
