You are likely going to be check at the docks, so if you have a Texas license, then make sure to dock on the Texas Side. It is much like hunting the Red River, either will do, but make sure to get out of the water on the correct side.

The ok license will run you closer to $150.00 to duckhunt more than a week. Also the license is only good till, jan. 1st. Some of the ok. gw cary g.p.s, and they will give you a ticket if you dont have a license and are north of the border. Thjey use the river boundries from [I think] the 40's or 50's. Where the river currently runs is not the original border. Its actualy farther south in a lot of areas. If your gonna hunt the river, I would suggest getting a ok. license.

Be careful with the river, the water in the red is all in OK. I might be wrong on the legalities of license needs but I would definitely double check. Anyone with further clarification bring it on.
What are the best public spots on Texoma?

East of the Texoma Dam, on the Red River, if you are on land on the south side you are in Texas. *SOME SAY IF*, you step in the water, anything falls in the water OR caught out of the water in front of you...YOU ARE IN OKLAHOMA.
Same on the far west end of the lake where it turns back into the Red River.
** It has also been told, Outfitters/Guides will P/U their party on the Texas side & take them in a boat to the Okla side without the parties knowledge. The parties are being ticketed for no Okla Lic by the G/W and Ooops there goes another shotgun.

I called the main office in Tulsa a couple of years ago and asked the question "If you put in & take out in Oklahoma but hunt in Texas, do you need an Oklahoma license?" and the answer was no. We always get one because we hunt both sides, but this year the limits vary between the 2 states so extra attention needs to be paid to where you are actually hunting.

Here is a reply that I got from the game warden on hunting regulation on lake Texoma. I hope this help.

"Mr T, the river channel is the State line in the lake. The vegitation line on the south bank of the Red River is the line outside the lake. You need the licenses and stamps for the state you are hunting as well as obeying the seasons and limits for the state you are hunting."
