I am looking for a registered pup that comes from hunting stock, preferably in the Austin area or within a reasonable distance. I am not particularly worried with high powered names in a bloodline but would like the parents to have some hunting experience in the field (do not want a puppy mill dog). Can anyone point me towards a litter or an expecting litter?

I have a litter that just turned 5 weeks Saturday.I have 4 black and 3 brown males. Both the Dam and Sire hunt and both are field trial trained with both parent having great blood lines. I live in Dallas but could meet you if interested. Call 214-460-1490

Mr. Pearcy's Labs have very good bloodlines on both sides. I have hunted with the sire and can say he is an excellent duck dog, very obedient and did run hunting trials and received his titles. These dogs would make very good family dogs as well as awesome hunters.

Hate to rain on your parade Chris but Mandigo dogs were show dogs that never saw a hunt. Also Lean Mac was never hunted, just field trialed.

Also have your breeding stock checked for eye issues. Mandigo kennels had a problem with it.

No matter where you purchase you're puppy from, be an educated consumer. When looking for a puppy make sure the parents have certified hips and elbows from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. The parents eyes should be cerf'd by an ophthalmologist and CNM along with EIC testing should have been done. Show lines need to have an Optigen test.

You are looking to spend a lot of time and effort on this puppy. Get the healthiest puppy you can afford.

Also get a pedigree from the breeder. If there are no field performance titles close in the pedigree pass on the litter. Anyone can say they are breeding great hunting dogs, but talk is just that....
