I'll admit it. Our county has gone to AR restrictions and I'm nervous about shooting deer this year. Few questions:

Is this deer a shooter anywhere?
Is this deer a shooter in an AR county?
Is the one in day pics the same as the one in the night pic?

Thanks in advance.
Sorry, can't get photobucket to make them larger for some reason.

Close enough to where I'm gonna have to take some stand time deciding I think.

too close to call at that angle. when in doubt, let him walk.

We had to let several tall 8 pointers walk so far. When in doubt don't shot.

If you keep your hair short and your mouth shut, things tend to run a lot smoother.

it does look close. I would say 14" but i wouldn't shoot if it was that close.
We had a poster boy for ARs show up sat. it was a main frame 10 that probably went 11"

The first question he asked was "is this a shooter anywhere?"

To answer that, no, he wouldn't be on our place.

As far as AR county goes, I think it is too close to call. I would not shoot this buck, even if I thought he was big enough by my standards, since he is not clearly over 13 inches. If you don't know for sure, don't shoot.

well i dont pay more then 500 for my lease and my input was if you have to ask teh question is he big enough then he's not on a lease where he knows theres bigger...and i would take hime IF he was outside the ears...

The bottom picture the one in the dark...If you look you can see what looks to be his G2 outside his ears while his ears are at alert... my 2 cents is when he walks out you know if thats your "trophy".

I think you are looking at two different deer, the deer in the first 2 pics looks wider than the deer in the last pic. Can't tell if either one will go 13" in those pics.

I think he's a shooter. I don't think he's young.

It was so much easier last year when all I had to do was go, "Yep that deer's got some age, I'll shoot."

This would be a nice deer on our place and one of the heavier ones I've seen in four years. We are an east Texas lease with smaller racks.

I can see now that I'm going to miss a fair deer simply because I'm too nervous about getting one undersized. I do know, I'm not going to take any chances this year.
