I live and go to school in Tyler, TX and hunt Kickapoo and Cades alot. My buddy and I have been wanting to do some scouting on the Sabine but have little knowledge of where to start. Can anyone give me some advice on where the ducks are, and if they're there; where should I launch my boat and where do I need to go?

Thanks!

I wouldn't be out there with a dog until after a freeze with the alligators in that thing.

No dog will be with me. Not worried about getting in the water myself though, I grew up on Dam B (south of Rayburn) by Jasper. That lake has thousands of gators.

Wait a minute, you were just asking for answers....now that you have the answers, are you gonna share them with the board so someone can beat you to the spot?

cbrown. I live to far away from you to give you much help, but you could check some maps and they might have a boat ramp on there.

As far as I know, the northernmost public access points are around Lindale. The river is full of logs, cars, and other hazards, too. I'm trying to find access closer to the Tawakoni dam, may have to try and find a landowner to help me.

I have p-row'd from T-wok dam to 19, TRUST ME this is something you DO NOT want to do. It's been a few years now but the log jams that completely go from one bank to the other and completely block the river is unbearable. Unless you like
pulling your p-row or boat up 30 degree banks lined with good ol Texas silt I wouldn't do it, however it makes for some great duck hunting memories/stories if you know what I mean.
