there's lots of them out there, nearly every bow company has their better priced line of bows, and they are well built and reliable. I shoot a PSE Rouge that I bought two years ago, and with a half dozen arrows, sights, stabilizer, peep, and maybe quiver I was out the door for five hundred dollars. most good pro shops will let you shoot a bow before you buy it and be able to reccommend accessories to go with it. They will also help you set it up. I look for more the right pro shop than I do a bow. If the pro shop's service is good, that will mean a lot o a new archer. You can just buy a bow anywhere.

I have a bear omni pro that came with rest/site/quiver that I got for 230$. shoots just as good as my mathews. took a caribou with it on the north slope in alaska without any problems.

you can use any bow .just get some good accessories and get it measured and sighted in to your specifications and practice. and you will be alright. i had a bear buckmaster that I could shoot bulls all day at 30 yrds. I paid $100 new at walmart.

Sports Authority has the Bear Omni pro for $199. Everything but the arrows.
I like it a lot, 70lb draw.
There is always Craigslist.
