Took off work today to get everything ready to head down in the morning. Freaking back just went out. Pain is unbearable. Can't even stand upright.

Go see a chiropractor, they will have you fixed up in just a few minutes.

dang that does suck, been there done that... mine is my ankle... have an achilles tendon evulsion stress fracture, it's killing me... but wrong time of the year to stop...

Been there, done that. Get to your doc asap, steroid injection and script for muscle relaxer. Then find a chiro - hit it quick and you will be back faster. Also, no heat on the back, ice for 20 minutes every two hours.

Been in your shoes, slipped a disk several years back and it ain't no fun, went to a sports med doctor and he got me fixed up, for the time being.

The back can be a real b---h. Take something for inflamation and be careful. If its too bad, I don't know if you will be able to make it for opening weekend.

Had a friend have the same thing happen few years ago....he was all bent over...bunch of his buddies decided he was ripe for the pickens since he was in the right position....needless to say he straightened right up....

Use ice pack for 20 minutes and then heat for 20 minutes afterward, two or three times a day. Wrap ice pack in towel or it can be very painful.
Lay flat of your back and do some stretches by pulling your knee toward your opposite shoulder.

This is advice from a 34 year veteran of lower back pain.

Magnets. Like the ones used to make magnetic signs that stick on your car or truck for advertising. About 6"X10", put around the pulled muscle area and and wrap lightly with gause or vet wrap for a few hours. Works great for me and my back problems.

If you have never had the thrill of back pain, there is no way you can imagine what it is like. There is no gutting through it when it is bad.

I'll have to agree on that. I have a 4 wheel drive truck with large tires and I packed the front wheel bearings on a Sunday afternoon. Monday morning the pain in my back was damn near unbearable and it was only pulled muscles. Thats coming from someone who has had surgery to repair broken bones.

A lot of places advertise "walk-ins welcome". There's a chiropractor on the west side of Fort Worth with a sign "crawl-ins welcome".

I've only had the muscle pain in my back a few times and it's plenty bad enough.
