I prefer a smaller blind. Because I hunt by myself and I can get my gun out any window very easily. Really depends on your whole set-up though. How many directions will you be watching/shooting?

I would probably go with the 5.5' x 5.5' because I bowhunt. For rifle hunting I would go with the 4x6 if you think you will take guests with you.

4X6 if definately a more popular blind and there really isn't much difference in size (sq ft). I have a Dillon 4X6 Bow/Gun Combo and it is awesome. There also seems to be more choices for towers with the 4X6. If you are doing gun only...I would go with the 4X6 unless you just want a little bit more room.

4x6 will slide between the wheel wells of a pickup if you ever have to move it. It will hold two hunters better if you need that. You can easily hunt 3 sides in a 4x6, might have to move around a bit to cover the fourth. You could still bow hunt from the two ends. I small Coleman catalytic heater will keep it nice and cozy on those cold mornings.

I would get the 4X6. Make sure it is 4X6 though. I bought a 4X6 that was really 3.5 by 6, I missed that extra 6 inches of leg room everytime I set in it.

Good Hunting,
Gary

For some reason there is a HUGE difference in 5.5x5.5 vs a 4x6. It may all be perception, but the 5.5x5.5 seems huge.
I hunt out of a 4x6 and I would not want another full grown person in there with me, may be a little tight for extended lengths of time.
That said we also have a 5.5x5.5 and have hunted 3 men at a time in it.
Both are Dillon.

For me a 4x6 because it gets cold in the Panhandle and I can move the heater a couple of feet to the side of me and stay warm without having my legs against it.

I like a 4x6, that that's hunting looking no more than 3 directions. You can sit side by side. I have hunted with my wife in a 4x4 stand. We basically each sat over to a side with our backs to a wall and faced towards eachother. If anything came to her 2 windows, it was her deer, if it came to my 2 windows, it was my deer. Only one rifle in the stand and no room for a hunting bag inside. I can handle a little more room side to side, but if the stand is too deep, I'm too far away from the window.
