I am hunting places south of Quanah, along the Pease River, looks good so far, game cam pics are exciting there. We may need to have a THF campfire get together one night.. drink a few and tell a few

There are not any good deer in N. Texas. up Especially around Vernon. I hear the let the folks out of the state hospital around the opener to make sure no one ever comes back.

I'm on 8.300 acres in Knox County (NW corner near King County). Lots of big deer out there.

I have lived a little west of Vernon all my life. There were
very few deer here before 1985 but we are covered up with them now. I have killed several in the 145 to 155 class . A mature
5 year will average 140 to 170 on horns and weigh from 160 to
200 plus pounds field dressed . The pease and red river in this area are known for deer size and mass . Not too many real wide deer but lots of mass . Property next to the Waggoner ranch is a good bet too. Farms with alfalfa and wheat that are close to creeks or river bottoms are a sure bet for a tag.
Good luck !!!!!
