How many Savage rifle shooters are here, and how do you like them? You see a lot of rifles in the classfied, but hardly any Savages.

I have owned quite a few, and for the money you can pick one up for it is hard to find a more accurate factory gun. They are somewhat ugly guns, but swith a stock change it eliminates that.

I have two Savage rifles. A model 12 24" heavy barrel in .22-250 and just broke in a Model 10 24" heavy fluted barrel in .308 this weekend. I don't think they are ugly, and I know they are accurate. The next rifle I am going to buy in years to come will be .300 Win Mag or something similar and it will definately be another Savage.

Savage makes one Great rifle. For the cost they are a GREAT deal. One of if not the most accurate non custom rifles out there.

You can count me as a satisfied owner. I have an older (pre adjustable trigger) 116 in 7 mag. It will group 4 inches at 400 yards from a lead sled.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Savage's made in the last 8-10 years are awesome, as are ones built before the 80's... that gap in the middle, not so much.
Out of the box, Savage's will out shoot everything else.

I really enjoy my 16 Weather Warrior in 7mm-08. The stock is not the best looking thing I have seen but it more than does the job and as other posters have mentioned it is accurate.

I do really like my Savage rifles. I got 2 of them an old 99 in .300 savage and a 110e in .270. I do agree about the stocks IMO Savage builds great rifles.

Cant stand the creepy accutrigger. Overrated You are the first and only person I have ever heard say the accutrigger is "creepy". It has no creep in it whatsoever. Unless you are talking about the bar safety on the trigger that you have to pull before you touch the trigger. The trigger itself is the nicest factory trigger and even better than a lot of aftermarket triggers. No creep at all. As soon as you touch the trigger there is no movement until it breaks at whatever weight you have it set at. Plus there is no overtravel.
