I built one during the offseason with stuff laying around my place. I ended up having around $50 in it. mostly for screws, hinges, and paint. My wife says it looks like a outhouse, but I dont care because it will be the Hilton for me way off in the boonies.LOL

personally I'd stay away from a tin roof. It will drive you batty the first time it rains scared

Now I like that.
It's a good looking deer stand.

I like to see how cheap I can build deer stands using salvaged materials.
Not that I don't like the fiberglass and well-constructed stands I see, I'm just cheap (and usually broke) so I have to cut a corner here and there.
Plus I'm a recovering duck-a-holic and build my deer stands about like I used to build duck blinds in the bottoms.
I never move them, just sign the front with my "logo" and move on if I get off the lease or whatever.
I do like them comfortable inside and usually make mine 4 X 6 which lets me back up in one corner and stretch out my legs but it not being 4' X 4' makes material a bit more difficult (cheap) to readily come by.

Sure gonna be funny when ya open that door and get greeted by a pissed off ring tailed cat, since there are no windows !! Can't stand having no window on my blinds, been greeted by owls too !

I opened the door on a ground stand in Llano one afternoon and there was a skunk in it.
He didn't spray but I went to another stand anyway.

I added stairs and covered the non-shooting sides for wind protection. I still need to make some windows that close it up. I was going to go with plywood flaps but they warp and the hinges might squeak. Was hoping for some thick plexiglass but its not cheap. I'm in it for about $140 now.
