OK duck opener we got skunked but we had a good time and found an "X" even though we went in blind. Didn't take a shot due to getting surprised by ducks or they were just barely out of range. Except for one duck of course that should have died but we attempted to shoot it with an unloaded gun. I had plans to hunt a different lake with different people Sunday so did not return to the X to try to hunt it a little different. Started Sunday off on public land but private access so the walk was short. As far as harvest we could only come up with an 8-shell gadwall drake. We must have got it with one lone bb, it flew out and then died way out in the lake. Today a kick boat was our retriever, so whoever kicked all the way out there got to keep the duck. I forgot to get a picture of the duck but I did get one commemorative picture of the hunt: Then the guys were headed back home and I decided to go looking for some snipe. I did not find a lot but a large wisp buzzed me early and I dropped two birds with one shell. I didn't see another snipe after that. I quit at 3 pm, with a 3 am wakeup for ducks I'd had a long enough day.

He LSU'd it in his waders
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

You know the poor guys I was hunting with, both had wader leaks in the crotchular area. We waded sternum deep to get to our spot, guess they hadn't been deep enough in their waders recently to know.
