I'm mainly a wingshooter, but I have been known to kill a hog or two every year. Couple weekends ago, I was out shooting dove at the family farm during the evening. I heard a ton of coyotes making noise down in the creek bed. I usually go on morning hunts, so I never have heard them before. I'm thinking about laying the smack down on some coyotes soon. I was hoping my THF brethren from the varmint forum could give me some tips.
1. What equipment is needed to successfully hunt coyotes?
2. What weapon is your weapon of choice for coyotes?
3. What kind of terrain do they like? Where should I set up relative to them?
Like I said before, I don't know much about hunting mammals, so any advice would be great.

1. have camo clothes, face net, and be very still
2. depends on what shot you might take, rifle no smaller than .17 for close shots, or shotgun with some buckshot
3. i would have to see the lay out of the land but get somewhere that you will have to call them out of their comfort zone and make them give you a shot....you need to be somewhere that you have the advantage to see them before they see you....remember your scent and the wind when you decide where to set up.

Oh, lets see....I know, One of my call 'em in close Predator calls!

.222 and up

Wind at your back. if you dont do that, you wont see em.
be at 50 to 150 yards from the tree/cover line. Dont try and make 'em go a long ways with no cover.

Ok, so what kind of calls? By that I mean what species not so much what brand.
Is too much calling bad or do you just make as much noise as possible?
Decoys?
What is the typical distance you wait to shoot?

You could start with a $5 haydels "government hunter".
answer to question 2, Yes and No.
Have shot them at close to 300 yards. .223 went in and exited!

If you really want to learn and not get educated and educate your yotes get hold of someone who has done it before and let them come help you and show you. Otherwise you are more likely than not going to get schooled by a yote
