Good morning. Can anyone recommend someplace around Houston, preferably south side, where I can buy a "gun belt" for my new OWB holster? I've always used either a paddle or and IWB, but decided to give the leather pancake style a try. Now I realize that I need a sturdy belt and would like to find one before this weekend.

I’ve had a few “ A Better Belt USA” belts for several years now, and think they are great products at a reasonable price. And they’re in Houston. Check them out.

I'll hit up Cabelas before the weekend, since they're nearby, and if they don't have anything that suites me then I'll order Hanks. The Hanks belts get really good reviews. Thanks.

Another option is to go to a saddle shop and they will make whatever you want. Make sure to specify it needs to be stiff to support a pistol. They can make them double thickness and stiffer with certain designs. For a non-leather option, the Wilderness Instructor belt is wonderful. http://www.thewilderness.com/belts/original-instructor-belt/If you are going to open carry, please look at a restraint holster with at least Level 1 retention and then practice, practice, practice drawing with that holster. Also, learn how to guard your pistol. There are some ok videos on youtube as a starting point.

Amazon is really your best bet. If you want to try some on Top Brass off 45 on the northside of downtown has a good selection.
