My place, I haven't seen as many does. I've actually seen more bucks this year. I'm hoping they stick around.
Also acorns seem to be dropping which may be why I haven't seen as many deer at the feeders.

We've got good bucks on camera and while bow hunting the other day had 2 nice shooters come by, but out of range. Not as many acorns as last year, plenty of hogs.

I'll be at the ranch next Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm gonna let the hustle and bustle of opening weekend simmer down. Middle of the week is typically better anyways. Hopefully I have some new prospects on camera. Otherwise is gonna be a hog slaying fest!

I'll be in stand un morning. First deer hunt of the year for us since no one bow hunted. I am the only one out of 6 guys going to be there in the morning. No one hunting on 2 other sides so should be quiet.

Got this mature 8 opening morning right before 9! He jumped into the feed pen which I have never seen a mature buck on our place jump into one during daylight hours in 6 years. We have a couple pics of him a month ago but nothing recent so I was lucky. I was alone so my back is tight now from getting him loaded. Rest of the guys came after lunch. Almost got stuck 4 times driving back to get him but it all worked out. Hunted this blind many times and first deer from it. I saw 3 bucks that morning but everyone else struck out that night and today. Just a spike seen so very slow. Acorns everywhere and doe are staying away from the feeders. One big buck was spotted chasing a doe. This guys hocks were pretty light still. He still had fresh mesquite bark.

Good looking buck, congrats! I had an exceptional weekend in Nocona. The bucks had absolutely lost their minds, cris-crossing the property in daylight hounding any doe that walked by. Saw several running flat out chasing doe. I'm living with Monday morning guilt for not pulling the trigger...guess I'll have to get back out there

Congrats on the awesome 8!
Saturday morning I didn't hear any shooting - heard two shots in the evening. Saw a few does and two bucks. Could have pulled the trigger on a tall but narrow 8. Worried that he was not legal and he wasn't the one I wanted. Sunday morning at 8:30 young 2.5 yo 8 pt buck trailing a pair of does.
Rut is getting really close. Another week or so before it's in full swing.

Think my neighbors shot my deer last weekend. haha. Big eight. May go over 150. Been drooling over this guy all year. Saw him cross the fence Saturday morning and 45 minutes later I heard the shot. Which one of you guys shot my deer?

Come on guys. Someone post a pic of this deer. I would love to see a pic of him. I promise I won't cry. Just want to know if I need to move my target to another deer.

You sure do sound confident, that somebody on thus thread shot your deer? Stop beating around the bush and ask them if they shot your target deer! Maybe post a picture so we all can see what we may or may not have shot!

Hey guys, back on here. Been seeing some decent bucks, an 8 and 10 pt. Where we're at not many acorns so the deer are coming to the feeders. Bucks just basically checking does there and moving on. We have a huge hog problem this year, rooting up all of my food plots, going to be shooting them on sight. Good luck everyone.

Yeah the hogs are worse this year at my place. Too the point where I've seen half as many deer on my place this year.

I have been seeing tons of buck this weekend, mostly the regulars that I have been watching since I put my cameras out. But I just pulled the cards and look at this bad boy! I've never seen anything like it. [url=ht

Nice pic! We had a buck several years back in Montague that reminds me of this guy. Not sure I still have the pic anywhere but he was like a 13 pointer 8 on 1 side and 6 on the other I believe. I will see if I can locate it and share.

Maybe post a picture so we all can see what we may or may not have shot! Sorry that you misunderstood my post. I wasn't calling anyone out or assuming that someone on here shot "my" deer. Just kidding around a bit and seeing if someone on here may have shot the deer I have been seeing. I don't know my neighbors and was hoping one of you may be and got a nice deer. Was just asking in a light hearted way. Cam picks from this week have answered my curiosity since then. "My" deer are still around. Pics of the deer I shot this weekend. Not the deer I was after and asking about but I'm super excited about him. My first buck. Both brow tines were broke off but taxidermist said he would fix em for me. Montague hunters should be in the stand now. The deer are really moving around. Good luck everyone!

Nice buck! I agree you should be hunting every chance you get, they are really chasing right now. Deer came out a little later than usual tonight , got a super moon going on. Me and my oldest Son shot 4 pigs this afternoon. They came out a little early 😀 !!!

Well Spro I can guarantee I haven't seen aNY deer close to what you posted. That would be a toad for where I hunt in Montague. I've seen two deer that size in the 20 plus years I've hunted my ranch

That is a beast. Never seen anything like that on our place. Congrats.
This weekend was very slow for the guys. Also they didn't get out until 4 and were back in the morning by 9. I slept in since I got my buck so only hunted a little in the morning seeing a young buck. You can't kill them at camp I keep telling them. I saw a buck cruising at 10:45 though. And the pigs have dissappeared and there are acorns everywhere. Still dropping.

I think one reason I was successful that morning is I got in the stand 2 hours before light. Was getting busted going to the stand 1 hr. to 30 min. before light. Made for a longer sleepy hunt but the "big shadows" under the feeder kept me awake.

Saint Jo, Texas, november 10th. 11 point, main frame 10 with a sticker at his right base. Picking him up from the processor today then it's off to the taxidermist. Only the second buck i have ever taken, now I'm spoiled. Taking the girlfriend out this weekend, been seeing a few big bucks moving around chasing. Iv always been more of a waterfowl hunter but after this year I'd have to say nothing beats the feeling of what a big buck can bring.
