I have had the ranch for 16 years, the rut nearly always starts first week in December. I read that rut was on in the Hill Country..Very Strange happening

Congratulations. Yeah, this year has been a little odd, more of a 'trickle' rut around here (Stephenville area). This cold weather should really get 'em going though.

I love the old Lab in your first photo. He's not happy with that deer!!! The "Old" Lab is 2-1/2 Year old "Satan's Creek Take It To The Max" UKC Champion and 1 win away from his AKC Championship. Deer blood gets him cranked up because he knows that he will shortly have a deer leg to chew on. He sleeps in the deer blind while I hunt...
