I wouldn’t bet the farm on that; too many new shooters and too many people with no long term memory. If you go back to craze in late 2008/2009, you will see the exact same posts about gouging, CTD, ammo hoarders, people buying everything Wal-Mart or Academy had in stock and then putting their own price stickers over the store price … About the only thing I don’t remember was the run on “black rifles.” However, I think that’s more because they weren’t as popular then as they are today and people weren’t seriously talking about banning them.

Yet with all of that, even as late as last December you still had numerous responses on this site and others that would recommend CTD anytime someone asked a “where could I find X” type post or posts that said “look at the price CTD has for X, I just bought 1000 rounds.” I would read those and think to myself; doesn’t anyone remember what those guys did in 2008/2009?

Now, before anyone says I’m against capitalism; CTD has the right to price their stuff at whatever price they want and can get. If they can find suckers to buy things at their inflated prices, and they don’t seem to have any problems finding them, more power to them. I’d rather not shop there based on their actions 4 years ago. They’ve also never been “cheaper” on anything I’ve ever compared between them, Ammo to Go, Midway, Sportsman’s Guide, Optics Planet, Academy or Wal-Mart.

CTD's current pricing on ammo and mags is ridiculous, but they have every right to set their prices however they'd like. With that said, we, as consumers, have every right to not do business with them. flag

Sure it is and you have some guy on the trading section selling M855 for 90 cents a round. I don't use CTD. Do the same.

Very simple question:

Is CTD selling their inventory at their "ridiculous" prices?

If yes, their prices aren't ridiculous.

Free enterprise working at it's "finest". When the time comes to sell, there will be more buyers than they have inventory. Even if the prices drop, with the high demand they won't drop below the prior price schedule. Either way they have a guaranteed profit.

Better than investing in the stock market, they have a commodity that people will pay for, maybe not you and me, but others will line up for them.

I am 100% agree with that.

I buy from them when it makes sense to do so. A couple weeks ago I found 30rd M1 Carbine mags there for under $20, so I bought a couple. Went back a couple of days later and they'd cranked it up to $40. I didn't buy any more. I'm not getting all butthurt about it, I'm just not buying them.

went to a store one time, they had policy [will match or beat other price] told employee found price cheaper at other store.. he said that was sale price, told him that's regular price, he got on phone, then told me he just called them, said that was their sale price, he could come down a little on their price.. he lost a sale.. went to other store, their regular price was cheaper.. flag
