One of the guys at cheaper than dirt in Fort Worth told me that they have over 6,000 PMAGS in the back. But they are basically holding them to keep the price up. Doesn't really surprise me I guess. But, How does that make you feel?

your first mistake was going there - stop shopping there and see how well their strategy works out for them.

CTD has never been one of my favorite places...if it is true...they certainly are working the system of supply and demand.

That's exactly what CTD did to drive the price up on ARs during the first shortage several years ago. I loathe that company.

I too am not a fan of CTD. I feel that any company that practices shady business tactics does not deserve my money. Besides there are tons of other places to find better deal and lower prices. They will not get 2cents from me.

I will gladly pay slightly more at Midway than CTD. And I did just that last week. They will never get another dime from me after the way they jacked me around on my last order!

It is a free market, they are free to do what they want and so do you. Prices seem to be driven up by many new to guns or at least AR's. Any real gun people buying at the current prices is dumb, all I have to ask is why are you buying now when you had the previous 4 years? That said some indication the market has topped and dropping.

Wonder if I could go in and "return" a few that I have in the wrappers for store credit? I'd have like $1500 in store credit scratch nidea

I have been a customer for Cheaper than Dirt for many many years. I disagree with the path they chose to take here recently and threw the catalog in the trash and took them off my "favorites" links. I will spend my money elsewhere in the free market.

Anybody dumb enough to spend their money at that place deserves what they get, spend 5 minutes on the internet and you can find better prices. Even when they aren't blatantly gouging, their prices are still higher than most.

They are not holding them to keep the price up. You could dump 6000 Pmags on the market right now and the price wouldn't even bobble.

They are holding in case they are banned. Such a law wouldmost likely not immediately go into effect. In the meantime they would be able to dump them for prices that make what they are going for now look almost free.

this

but any way you coat it, it is still kaka

never done any business with ctd, and at this point i quess i never will.

you kind of ask yourself what kind of a dent will this kind of internet talk do to them, and or how much will it hurt. it is obvious some want it to hurt.

it will be interesting to see the exact outcome

i personally don't dwell to much on how a company such as ctd handles such a situation., to me it is more interesting to see how the averge joe handles things.
you kind of expect from ctd, but when i see a person at the wal mart buy everything on the shelf and then next day see it in a forum for what i know to be twice what was paid. that kind of gets me more.

ok down off the soap

put in my 2cents

Just the name "Cheaper than Dirt" to me is false, I'm no lawyer, but I think I could win a case against that name easily..(if it was there actual advertising not name) grin

" Your Honor and members of the jury, here is a pile of dirt...I paid $40 dollars for this pile of dirt...Here is one of their PMags, manufactured for probably less than $5, sold for $100. Thank you, I rest my case"

Show me another place around here (Saginaw) with their selection of BVAC ammo and I would consider not going there. At least their usual selection. Right now it S___S!

They are not going to make any money of those mags. When they decide to sell those mags, the extra money they make off holding them will make up for all the customers that choose to no longer do buisness with them this year.
