I own S&B, Zeiss FL, USO, Kahles, Swarovski
The Meoptas glass is right there with them.
That is no BS

I will stick to Zeiss Swaro and When I try another it will be Schmidt and Bender

The OP did say he wanted to stay under $300 for the scope. For that price, the best scope I have is a Burris FFII in 4.5-14. I have a bunch of Leupolds, and they are a bit better in terms of adjustment quality. I need another scope myself, and I do think I'm going for another Burris just like the one I have.

I used a Zeiss Conquest 3-9 for a week or two recently, and I was expecting to be impressed, but I wasn't. I suspect that it's the next level of Zeiss that would impress me.

Burris cant touch Alpen with a 10 foot pole. Not even close.

Just bought a Nikon 3x9 Pro-Staff. So far I really like it and it was under $200.

I also like the Redfields. For the price they are tough to beat. I have used the lower level Leupolds (Rifleman and VX1) and the Redfield was very very close in clarity and tracked well.

I have a Leupold VX2 3-9X40 that does a good job. They can be purchased for under $300

They're cheap. Buy a nice Nikon or Zeiss.
