if not corn, you need to know how much a sq ft of whatever product weighs. you could both be right depending on the product.

Ok, it's 46.8 cu ft. If the filler weigh's 15 lbs/sq ft, it's 702, plus the volume of the pryamid at the bottom.

If I remember right corn weight is 45#/cubic foot. So I am guessing closer to about 2000#. Fill it and let us know. Just at first glance I was thinking way over 1500#s. Either way you gonna have to take out a loan to fill the first time with corn prices this year. bang

Well he's got the welding gear I guess he could make a corn conveyor belt or tube with an auger in a bin and put it in the back of a pickup or a flatbed and just drive up to the feeder pop the top and have the machine do all the work of loading... Just like feeding cattle. smile Heck if it worked well he could start a business charging people to keep their feeders filled partyon555

I have the LAMCO 1000 lb feeders and looking at yours I tend to agree with stxranchman, it will hold 1500-2000 lbs.

I'd be more worried about weight than volume. It may be able to hold that much volume of corn, but can it hold that much weight in corn? Hellova nice feeder though. Good luck

That should hold, but if there is a catastrophic failure, you absolutely, positively have to take pics.

If corn is 45# a cubic foot. Cubic foot is 12"X12"X12"= 1728". Feeder is 40"X40"X52"= 83200". 83200"/1728"= 48.15'. 48.15' X 45# = 2166.75# pounds of corn. If my math is correct. A lot of $$$.

40lbs=$8.5, 2166.75#/40#= 54.168#*8.5= $460.43+tax= about $500 every time you fill up....

At the same time you save on gas, saving yourself 5 or 6 trips to the lease just to refill feeders...

Your feeders are like ol' whats his names Rotisseries... just set it and forget it!!!
Good luck
