I am working on a point system and wanted to see what everyone thought, I have never hunted TX before and am unfamiliar with the animals and difficulty of taking them for this area. Hopefully this is reasonable, feel free to make suggestions. Should I add/remove animals, points increased/decreased? Thanks,

Fox - 2
Ring Tailed Cat - 2
Badger - 5
Coyote - 6
Bobcat - 8

Badgers should be worth more I think. I see tons more coyotes and bobcats than badgers. I've only ever seen 2 badgers in the wild.

To far for me.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

More money in the pot would make it worth the drive.

I like this line up. I think I will use this one. Thanks for the input.

Yup, the hunt is on, unfortunatly, we have to find our own land to hunt.

More money in the pot? Higher entry fees? We should have a good pot going, It looks like we will have a good turn out. If we get 20 guys=$500.

Keep the input coming, I still have time to work out some quirks/details.

I already have the entry fee set, and it looks like some guys pre-registered (otherwise I could change it), I could add a big dog/cat pot to sweeten the deal? Other side pot ideas?

Ok, here is the final revision of the point system. Based on everyone's (much appreciated) input, I have gone with this system.

Mountain Lion -15
Bobcat - 8
Badger - 8
Coyote - 7
Red Fox - 6
Grey Fox - 4
Ringtail - 2
Coon - 2

We are also adding a Big bobcat and Big coyote pot. Each one will be paid seperate. For the bobcat, the buy in will be $10 per person and the coyote will be an additional $10 per person.

So, if you want to enter all pots, the total buy in will be $45. If we get more than 10 teams we will split the payout between 1st and 2nd place, more than 20 teams, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Sorry for the last minute changes, Texas tournaments seem to be a little different than what we do here in VA. I like alot of your ideas and plan to implement some into our tournaments here.

I look forward to meeting some of you, hopefully we have a great turnout and can make this an annual event.

Im looking for a head count, I have 4 teams already signed up. I know we will get some guys show up the day of, and a bunch of guys from other forums say they will be there to register Friday.

In addition to money, we will be giving away some products, camo clothing and such.
