Has anyone purchased this at Academy and used it? Any problems or do you recommend buying "The Remote" instead for 3 times more money? I would love to buy (2) of the Wildgame if everyone is having a good experience with them. Also, how long have they been around? This is the first year I have seen them at Academy.

Yup, THought I might get more feed back if the title was about the specific remote I have questions about. I think only (1) person said they used it. I want to hear from a few more if any.

Actually, GGun it does not matter, but there were several people that had used this remote and had good results on that thread! Hilo even said he decided to go ahead and buy the wilgame remote on that thread, so I was curious about him posting the same thing a few days later?

I have not tried any of the remotes, really not sure what the advantage would be personally

I haven't used them, but I could definitely have used one several years ago. Imagine sitting in a cold blind all afternoon, then hearing the feeder go off and you get all excited. Then imagine 13 cows moseying in and vacuuming up all the corn, then leaving- with half an hour until prime hunting time. I would have loved to have just punched a button for another order of corn instead of sitting there trying to decide what was worse- trying to sneak out and spin the thing or just sit there staring at the naked ground under the feeder..

We have about 10 of them on our lease. Mixed results. I have learned that they require a really hot battery to function properly. The feeders that have solar chargers seem to work great with the remotes. The others, not so much. Also they don't seem to work that great on 6 volt mechanisms. But if you are putting them on 12 volt mechs, with solar panels, then I would highly recommend them. If you don't have solar, or are using 6 volts mechs, then I probably wouldn't waste my time and money.

Capt. Engine 2 thanks for that input. A few questions. Did you hook it up to your timer? Or do you just connect it straight from the battery to the motor. I have "The Timer" on my feeders and they cost about $70 new so I was hoping to by pass it. I bought one and opened up the instructions and it says "Not compataible with all timers" but does not say which ones it is compatible with. Other ones I looked at give alternative instructions to bypass timer and that is what I was going to try. Also, I wonder if putting power on to the motor direct from the battery and by passing the timer also sends power backwards to the timer since it is still connected to the motor. Any input you have is appreciated. Again, I just want something dependable that won't ruin the equipment I already have.

Disregard my last questions. This unit will not work on an "All-Season" feeder control unit since there is a hard wire coming from the main motor to the timer. The pinchers they provided cannot be spliced in. I will be taking this back and buying "The Remote".....thanks for your input.

OK call me wishy washy but a client that told me about "The Remote" happend to buy it for me as a gift and I had already had the Wildgame Innovations in hand. Rather than take the Wildgame one back I figured I would install both and will tell you which one works the longest trouble free. The remote control on both is IDENTICAL and the actual controller appears very similar. The "Remote"took me 10 minutes to install and the Wildgame took me about 20 minutes. I figured out that you can clip the wire to the connection coming off the motor and i DUCT TAPED IT so they won't let go. Both worked fine the first day and so did my "THE TIMER", but I will be curious to see which one lasts longer and will report back. I have a 12 volt battery and solar system.
