I hunted a couple of Gene Adams' places in Christoval over 15 years ago.

Holy Crap!!!!!!!!! You got to be kidding me Gene Adams is still around??? I hunted one of his day leases right outside Christoval years back. The newspaper said it was 800 acres, when we arrived it was minus 720 acres. The lodging was at the cattle arena, right in Christoval, wow

In another lifetime I worked for him....and yes ironically I found out this past summer he is still alive and kicking. A girl I went to high school with married a guy from Christoval, and I got to meet him at my high school reunion.

My grandfather lived in Christoval and the summer between 6th and 7th grade, summer of 93, I went stay with him for 2 months. I figured lots of time playing in the river and shooting guns. Well the first weekend was great, but Monday morning around 6 am he woke me up and told me to get dressed, but to put on my jeans and boots he was taking me to work. Well since he was retired I was confused but I got dressed and away we went. In the car he said, you're not laying around the house all summer you're old enough to work, I was in the fields working when I was younger than you are now. He drops me off at a horse arena and says have fun. That was when I got introduced to Gene. It was me, another kid my age named Clay I knew from around town, some other punk kid I ended up having to whip, and an older kid named Liberty. We worked feeding horses, breaking horses, mucking stalls, loading out hay all kinds of stuff. It was fun and it taught me what an honest days work was at a very early age.

When I met my classmates husband this summer he told me Gene has survived cancer a couple of times, I believe it, he was a tough old man 16 years ago.

I don't remember for sure about the road, but I do remember you could hear what was going on at the convenience store.
