I have a young setter. This will be her first year quail hunting. I have a couple places to go, but they are 4+ hours from home. I would like to find a place more in the 2 hour range from Dallas to make it easier to take her a lot more often. From talking to people this may be difficult to find, but any information will be greatly appreciated. I am looking for anything, lease, public land, whatever.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Chris,

Don't know of much within two hours of Dallas but I will also have a young pup and be looking to get as much exposure as possible. Maybe we can compare notes on public spots or other options as quail season gets closer.

You might want to look into a year round managed bird preserve. We have on Just 1 hr 15 min south of Dallas!
It is 1800 acres and you will find birds. I love starting my young dogs on a preserve. You can guarantee to get them in lots of birds. Our birds are awesome flight birds they are not the stump kicking chickens allot of you are accustomed to finding at other preserves. The key is to manage for year around survival. For more info check out www.hotguidedhunts.net
Let me know if we can help ! love to see your young dogs in the field being succesfull.

Hey Allen, I just checked out your website for the first time. Pretty cool, looks like you have a lot of fun stuff going on down there. This is in Munger Tx, right? That’s about a 100 miles from Dallas. How much are your dove hunts opening weekend? I didn’t see any pictures of the lodge either.

Thanks for the traffic! We are working steady to provide quality and less quantity. Our dove hunts are $75 for 1 day $140 for 2 days and $200 for 3 days. Lunch is catered buffet style and is served at camp in the field every day. We hunt both morning and whitewing.
