i have a moultrie camera and i dont feel like its working to good. i have walked many times infront of the camera with out it taking a picture and have moved the camera and it still has not taking a picture. when im hunting i have see a deer walk right infront of it and it isnt taking. it will work every now and then but not much. i have a 35 mm camera that works great but i like digital cameras because it holds many pictures and long battery life. im wanting a new digital camera but dont want to spend hundreds of dollars. any suggestions on good cameras?

Reconyx has the best reputation for fast "wake up" time. They're expensive, but its the next one I'll get. Read the reviews on Cabelas. Reconyx Cams Here's a satisfied customer's review: "I recently purchased the reconyx rm45.... and it is by far the best camera i have ever owned or used. I have used stealth cams, wildview cams, moultries, and cuddebacks. I set the camera up on the same tree i had my moultrie I-40 on for the last 3 weeks (only getting about 60 pics with none having deer in them mostly limbs or grass blowing on the moultrie I-40) and got over 600 pics in one week on the reconyx with no blank pics. I had pics of numerous does, several pics of a fox, and numerous pics of a very large buck that i have not seen on any of my other cams. The trigger speed on this camera is extremely fast."

I have the new Remington 6 mega pixel cam. It is only sold at Academy and is about $160. It has been working great for me.

Nothing beats the buckeye, the other cams you will eventually have problems with.

I've heard good things about it but never used it.

I have the Cuddeback capture, and it's wakeup time is about 1 1/2 seconds (pretty good), but the Reconyx wakeup time is .1 sec!
Still if that's what you can afford, I could recommend the Cuddeback.

You're not going to get a digital camera that will last more than 6 months for a $100. It will fail when you need it most. Then you have to take the time to mail it back for warranty repair/replacement. Spend about twice that and don't buy a Moultrie.

Yupp,My Ghost just bit the dust at a lil over a year.I never really cared for it too much anyway.Mine was the 5mp and I hated the strap that came with it.
