Hey is North Texas by any means a good area to hunt blue and green winged teal? I donnt wanna waste time and money going out around here if their isnt.Bigproblem for me is no access to a boat. Anyone who hunts Texoma or Ray Roberts would no more on this question....

Who knows? You just have to go out there and look around. That's what the rest of us do.

IMO, Teal season is timed to benefit the peak of the Bluewing migration as they arrive AT THE COAST. If your worried about time and money related to killing birds, going there is your best bet for success. I scout for them here. Then if no Teal to hunt, I hunt Dove instead.

Sniper is right.

Not saying there are not teal in North Texas to be had for early teal season. But you really want to get into them you need to head south.

It is wierd though they will be on one or two lakes in the region, and none on others. Some years they are on one lake other years they are not. Lots of scouting for teal, and if you find a mess of them you better be ready to get there Early. Like early Friday night. LOL

Good luck with some driving, and scouting you can find them.
